This took place at Camp Wapsie Friday September 5th 8:00am to 4:30pm. There were 123 women there that day! The weather proved to give us a little rain but we persevered and came out shining in the end!

Menu was a hummus wrap, quinoa salad, fresh fruit and a brownie. 

Recipes from the event. 

Black Bean, Quinoa and Corn Salad
1 cup fresh local corn
1 cup black beans
(BPA free can or dried)

1 tomato, chopped
1/4 cup fresh cilantro
1 cup cooked quinoa
2 TBS chopped red onion
3 TBS lemon juice
2 TBS olive oil
salt and peper to taste

If using dried black beans then soak them over night then strain the next day. Mix all of the ingredients and serve chilled! 

Hummus and Mango Salsa Wrap
Wrap (whole grain, I found a great one at HyVee that is made with chia seeds)
Hummus (you can also put this in the blender and add avocado to it)
shredded carrots and red cabbage
quinoa 
alfalfa sprouts (incredibly fresh is safest)
bean sprouts (same)
mango salsa

Set up just like a deli and begin to layer and mix to your preferred proportions. Roll up and enjoy!

"Intention 

This is a women's focused day with leadership, career success, personal development and health based experiences. We will start the day out with activities consisting of canoeing, Zumba, meditation (beginners welcome!) kayaking, climbing, yoga and zip-lining. We will then break for lunch and hear from Lydia Brown of Ascent and Denise Stapley, winner of Survivor 2012 and LMHC The afternoon will consist of breakout sessions to connect and a guest speaker Kinzie Farmer founder of SuccessSHEDr. Stephanie Gray, founder of Integrative Health and Hormone Clinic, will help us explore our health in the afternoon as well. 

When you leave this event you will have had some fun, felt exhilarated, met some great women from your Corridor, have made some possible business connections and most importantly, you will have a better understanding and appreciation for YOU. 

Morning Activities

Each guest can choose 2 activities for about an hour each. If you prefer to use both hours for just Zumba or yoga you are welcome to do so. Choices are activities consisting of canoeing, Zumba, meditation (beginners welcome!) kayaking, climbing, yoga and zip-lining. Toula Yoga will be sponsoring the yoga for the day with Andrea Parks leading the sessions. Ashley Grabe will be dancing the day away at Zumba!

You will recieve an email after registering for your selection of activity 2 choices. A 3rd selection may be needed due to activities being first come first serve. Thank you in advance for understanding. 

Lunch

The lunch menu is being developed now and will be something that everyone can enjoy. Water and beverages will be available as well. Fresh fruit and snacks will be available throughout the day. Please keep in mind the venue is casual and the purpose of the day is to leave feeling refreshed. Please message for any allergies or dietary restrictions. Lydia and Denise will speak at lunch. 

Afternoon

The afternoon will consist of Kinzie and Dr Gray speaking, connections in the Corridor and  breakout sessions. This will function as a way to move forward feeling your best and making the most out of your community. These will be long lasting connections to help you grow your social, business and health areas of life.  

Materials for notes will be handed out as most guests will want to leave purses or belongings in their car.  Please feel free to bring your phone for fun Tweeting and Instagram fun throughout the day. We will also have a key valet for anyone wanting to leave keys at the front during check in.  

Social Hour

Lion Bridge Brewing will be the meeting place for a social libation after the event for those that want to continue the conversation after we close for the day. This new brewery uses teas from Verbena Tea Bar and Spa in Cedar Rapids for flavoring some of its beers.
