Maria Dummermuth - Yoga • Pilates • Singing Bowl Therapy
Maria will be presenting a guided meditation and relaxation to the sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls and Gong Sound Bath. I am going to ask class participants to bring their own yoga mats and towel to cover themselves for comfort if they feel necessary.
Maria currently teaches a free/donation-based yoga at the Bertram Community Town Hall weekly in a community yoga project designed to get people of all ages out into the community together. This class generally includes neighbors of all ages coming together to practice yoga, laugh, and relax in a small town environment. All donations are given to the Bertram United Methodist Church.
Maria has have been married for 18 years and what a journey it has been. Her husband, Chad and she have two amazing boys: Cole (17) and Chase (14). Their family loves the outdoors and they spend much of their time together outside at their home in rural Cedar Rapids or traveling on outdoor adventures. They love to hunt, fish, camp, hike, ATV, ski, snowmobile - you name it: if it is outdoors - they are probably doing it! Unlike many, they love the winter and winter outdoor vacations are their favorite!
Maria is a Yoga & Pilates instructor and Singing Bowl Sound Therapy practitioner. "Ever since I can remember, my passion has always been movement. As I have journeyed from group fitness, to pilates, to yoga and holistic healing there is so much to learn and it brings me great joy to share any knowledge I acquire with all my students and clients."
She loves being in the outdoors as well. In the summer she has always loved to rollerblade, hike and just be outside. She recently took up paddle boarding and love that as well. In the winter, she is a mountain girl at heart. She loves skiing, snowshoeing, and spending time in the snow!
Maria currently teaches classes at HEAT Yoga, Metamorphosis Pilates, Breathing Room Yoga, and Toula Yoga - all of Cedar Rapids. She has been offering yoga and singing bowl combination classes as workshops at all the locations above and hope to continue to offer more in the future. She will also be adding some workshops at Indian Creek Nature Center this fall as well.
"I feel so blessed to be able to do a job that I love. I feel successful already, but the gift of Shero is that I get to share my gifts with others!"
Maria's advice to Shero's; "Follow your passion, do what you love, and the rest will fall into place"!
